Blue Ridge Country Club
The Clubs at Colonial Ridge was initiated in 2012 and features two historical golf clubs located in Central Pennsylvania. Colonial Golf & Tennis and the Blue Ridge Country Club merged in the spring of 2012 to offer their members a unique opportunity to access two clubs for one membership. Colonial’s golf course was first opened in 1910 as Colonial Country Club. The golf course was the foundation for Colonial Country Club and was moved to its current location in 1954. The design is an exquisite layout featuring holes cut over rolling hills and through large 100 plus year old trees. The course is a championship layout that was renovated in 2002-2003 by Arthur Hills – Steve Forrest design associates to create larger greens and multiple tee boxes. Blue Ridge’s golf course first opened as a private club in 1937 as Blue Ridge Country Club. The club’s history featured an extensive search to determine who designed the Blue Ridge Course as it was unknown for decades. What they uncovered was some rich golf history linked to the club. George Morris, grand-nephew to Tom Morris who developed the Old Course at St. Andrews in to what it is today, was the architect to design the course in 1932. The Blue Ridge Course offers a championship layout with fast paced greens and picturesque mountain scenery providing an enjoyable and challenging test for golfers of all skill levels. The Clubs at Colonial Ridge is a semi-private club offering the finest in golf, tennis, and swimming facilities, coupled with premium dining and special event venues The Clubs at Colonial Ridge is the perfect mixture of classical historical clubs with new amenities.
